“This race was resumed at the Recreation Grounds last night. The principal competitors maintain the same order as previously, Perry leading about two miles in advance of McKenzie, and Black following McKenzie at a distance of about three miles. Black last night accomplished a distance of 44 miles, a superior performance to that accomplished by him on the opening night. Allan repeatedly tried to “make up” on Black, but without success. When time was called, the distances were as follows:- W. Perry, Wolverhampton, 177 1/3 miles; W. McKenzie, Kirkcaldy, 175 1/4 miles; J. W. Black, Aberdeen, 172 1/2 miles; W. Allan, Kirkcaldy 168 1/4 miles; John Duffas, Aberdeen, 125 1/4 miles; W. Riddell, Aberdeen, 125 miles.”
